Camouflage

Does a zebra ever change its stripes? Answers to this age old cliche will NOT be found in this BrainPOP UK movie on camouflage! Instead, Tim and Moby will teach you how animals hide from both prey and predator using different methods of camouflage. In this educational, animated movie you'll learn about some of the more common forms of camouflage, like countershading, where an animal's back is darker than its belly; disruptive colouration, which makes it hard to distinguish an animal's outline; and protective colouration, which helps animals blend in with their environments. You'll also learn about the active camouflage made possible by chromatophores, specialised skin cells that let creatures like chameleons and octopuses change colour at will!
